Trainee Dance Division at The Ballet Studio Lafayette

The trainee dance division is The Ballet Studio at LSPA's program for dedicated and committed dancers ages eight and up. Students meet for ballet class multiple times each week, which allows them to enhance their formal ballet training and follow a pre-professional dance track. As students progress through the various levels, more frequent trainings and more time commitments are required. Each level in our trainee dance program becomes increasingly more focused for students who are serious dancers and have the time to dedicate to their training. Attendance is mandatory to remain in the program and to assure safe development and healthy progress.

The core of the trainee dance division is devoted to classical ballet with pre-pointe and pointe training deemed as appropriate. Conditioning is included in each level to prepare for more advanced work. .

The Ballet Studio at LSPA's trainee dance division requires director permission to ensure that each student is placed in the correct class level and will succeed in their ballet practice. The director places all trainee dancers in the appropriate class level based on age, ability, commitment, and proficiency of ballet technique, which includes the dancer’s knowledge and execution of correct ballet technique, strength, and alignment. Each level of the trainee division requires specific skills and refinement of technique before the director advances students to the next level. Please contact us to schedule a placement class with the director if you are enrolling in this program.
